Young Karaites by on MARCH 25, 2011 Dear Young Karaites, Have you ever thought of the future of your congregation? Have any of you looked around in the temple the last time you attended and checked the ratio of elderly versus the young or better yet, could you calculate the average age of the people attending the services that day? Presently I feel there is big disconnects between the elderly and the younger generation, I hope we can fix this disconnection. For many years I felt that the congregation has no future without you the young, As the bible describes the ages for serving the temple as described below: • See Book of NUMBERS chapter 4 verses 003 through 47, states it this way From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that came to do the service of the ministry, and the service of the burden in the congregation. • As you can see the majority of the board members are way beyond these limits of Fifty years. • There are good reasons for limiting the age of services as I understand them and listed not in any particular order. • Is to maintain continuity and avoid disconnect of the chain linkages from generation to generation • Teach the young at the age when they are able to learn so they can teach their children, when their time comes. • Getting the responsible, established generations in age-wise who has families to care about the future of their generation and their children’s generations. • Getting the adult at the highest peak of awareness and strength. I am very sure you can read more into it. But this is my brief. Hope that I am making you think of your future and the future of the next generation. My suggestions to you is as follow, please utilize your socially linked sites like face book and start your plan on how you want to be able to be the next leaders. Start by communicate issues that you feel important to you as members of the community, bring them up to the board, I promise to have all issues brought to the table for discussions and to be acted on. I also need few of you to be in charge of the next election. I need everyone’s help, and care for the community, for us to stay strong and continue.
